Summer season review so far ...

Company: Hawkesmill Nurseries

The award winning family run business, Hawkesmill Nurseries, have had a very busy summer season so far, with shows, new varieties and a new glasshouse build well underway!

The team displayed a superb array of their collections at the HTA National Plant Show, which took place on 19th and 20th June.  One of the 'go to' annual horticultural events in the UK, customer old and new were told of the many of the perennials, grasses, herbs and wildflowers for next season. Those varieties such as Cirsium, Polemonium and Campanula, to name but a few, with larger 3 litre pot sizes were of particular interest.

Stunning new plants have been in abundance for Hawkesmill this year, such as the Scabiosa incisa 'Kudo' which produces masses of pink pincushion flowers over a long flowering period and is also a magnet for beneficial insects such as butterflies.

The build of the 1 hectare glasshouse is well underway now and will ensure that Hawkesmill Nurseries have an even higher quality production facility with an increased capacity.

Hawkesmill Nurseries will be bringing more news throughout the remainder of 2018 of their range of plants and also updates on the glasshouse build.
