The Summer Showcase has finally ended for this season and its been a blast!

Some of the most outstanding colour displays seen in the UK of Annuals and Perennials were enjoyed by over 3,500 Professional Growers, Retailers, Parks, Landscapers, Garden Writers and Home Gardeners. All had the opportunity over the duration of the event to vote for their favourite variety by marking it with a Blue Flag.

With over 1300 catalogue varieties, 200 new varieties and 700 experimental products on display, there was plenty to choose from. Each day the blue flags were counted. After 3 weeks and 2,100 blue flags later, we have a result!

Bold ‘stand-out' colours certainly look to be the underlying trend for 2020, judging by the votes cast this year. Not only that, NEW varieties are still creating additional excitement and interest. Here are the top 3 varieties chosen by our visitors:

Petunia GlacierSky

The unique flower effect of NEW Petunia GlacierSky (P) really stood out as the top variety for both trade and home gardeners. This variety provides a real twist on one of the all-time garden favourite bedding plants.

Lavandula Blue Spear

The NEW Lavandula angustifolia Blue Spear is the showiest English Lavender you can grow and sell with its large intense bluish-purple flower spikes and outstanding neat upright shape. Not only that, Blue Spear is from seed, so the potential risk of importing vegetative crops with Xylella can be eliminated.

Geranium Macarda® Pink with Purple Eye

What can only be described as an outstanding all-round performer with flower power for window boxes, containers and baskets; NEW Geranium Macarda® Pink with Purple Eye (P) proved a real head-turner in the basket displays.
