Taken from Franchi’s 1928 seed catalogue, we are pleased to announce that our new VINTAGE seed range, launched at the National Trust just this spring has been voted by Hortweek as ‘Best Retail Product 2025’.
Paolo Arrigo managing director of Seeds of Italy said ‘in what is a pretty turbulent and flat market for retailers in terms of seed ranges with little innovation, massive red tape which has led to less choice and shortages, we are just thrilled to have received this prestigious award from HortWeek. No other seed brands won new product awards at either Four Oaks or Glee this year which sets Franchi apart.”
“Vintage is of the moment and being driven by younger customers inspired by websites like Vinted, Vintage Cash Cow, Gum tree as well as Vintage themed cosplay events. Franchi Seeds of Italy 1783 has been the only brand to have taken advantage of this trend this year, and we have the pedigree to back this up as it was all inspired by our own 1928 Franchi seed catalogue and sales have exceeded our expectations.
But not only that… for 2027 we are adding 12 Vintage Flowers from the same Franchi 1928 seed catalogue, launch date and varieties to be confirmed. Customers can register their interest now to be first in line when these launch in early 2026.
This is a range that can standalone in a garden centre gift area with its own POS stand if required, in a stately home, historic gardens, open days and country houses Etc. Interestingly, we can incorporate it into the top pegs of a Franchi seed rack, the rest would be non-competing Franchi varieties and this format has driven extra traffic to Franchi stands in garden centres this year and has enriched the large range of varieties we can already offer garden centres and farm shops looking to move away from the same-old-same-old offerings for something new, historically interesting and genuinely exciting.”
