Golden Hooves Cheddar crowned Supreme Champion

Golden Hooves is celebrating a major milestone in its regenerative farming journey after its Vintage Cheddar was named UK Supreme Champion at the Global Cheese Awards for the second time. This prestigious trophy takes the brand’s tally to 50 individual awards in just two years, as expert judges continue to praise its taste and quality.
Awarded on 13 September at West Woodlands Showground in Somerset, the Supreme Champion title was one of six prizes won by Golden Hooves products at this year’s event. It follows a string of recent wins at Great Taste, the British & Irish Cheese Awards, International Cheese & Dairy Awards, Virtual Cheese Awards, Farm Shop & Deli Awards, and the Royal Welsh Show, where Golden Hooves Salted Butter claimed Supreme Champion.
Part of the farmer-owned dairy co-operative First Milk, Golden Hooves also celebrates the co-op’s King’s Award for Enterprise for Sustainable Development and B-Corporation certification. The brand was additionally named among The Good Shopping Guide’s Top 200 Ethical Businesses for 2024—further recognition of its commitment to sustainable, regenerative farming.
Director Leona McDonald said, “It’s been an incredible couple of years for Golden Hooves, but this award really stops us in our tracks—we’re thrilled. More people want food that’s better for the planet without losing the joy of proper cheese. This trophy is a lovely reminder that you don’t have to choose between flavour and farming that restores the land.”
Golden Hooves’ success underscores its mission to bring regeneratively farmed food to more tables. Since launching just two years ago, the brand has consistently shone a spotlight on practices that benefit people, animals, wildlife, and the planet.
Shoppers can now find Golden Hooves cheeses, butter, crackers, and other treats at leading retailers including Waitrose, Ocado, and Booths, as well as independent stores nationwide and online at thecheesemarket.co.uk.
