Malcolm Scott Consultants secures planning permission for Garsons Farm GC
Garsons Farm Garden Centre, Esher, is set to expand its retail area further to planning permission being obtained by Malcolm Scott Consultants.
The 9,000sq ft retail extension will provide more covered space to protect plants and outdoor sundries, reduci enhancing its customer experience.
The business was instructed by Ian Richardson, owner of Garsons Farm Garden Centre, to compile a development plan and prepare and submit proposals to Elmbridge Borough Council for the extension to its existing retail canopy.
Chris Primett, who oversaw the project, said that the area earmarked for the extension already had planning permission in place for retail use, and that with the application site falling within a conservation area, the new structure would be designed to comply with guidance given in the Elmbridge Design Code.
Ian Richardson, Managing Director of Garsons Farm, said: “The planning process went seamlessly and shows that many local authorities are still supporting garden centres even though they are located within the Green Belt,”
Development is already underway, with the extension due to open before Christmas.
The Malcolm Scott Consultants team will be exhibiting at Glee at the NEC, Birmingham, from September 16-18, and can be found on stand 11D70.
