Blue Diamond are exhibiting in the Discovery Zone where they have two stands, one in collaboration with the National Trust and one with the Soil Association.

Blue Diamond are working closely with the National Trust and their Plant Conservation Centre, to bring rare and heritage plants into commercial production which will then be available to buy exclusively through Blue Diamond Garden Centres.

A minimum of 10% of the selling price per product will be donated by Blue Diamond to the National Trust to help look after nature, beauty and history for everyone, for ever.

Blue Diamond have already developed collections of seeds, bulbs, roses, native trees and herbaceous borders, all inspired by the places cared for by the National Trust, which they will showcase on their stand in the Discovery Zone at RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

At the Show, Blue Diamond will also be opening the registration of an exclusive online auction, for one of ten very special trees. These apple trees are direct descendants to the tree that inspired Newton’s theory of gravity, which can still be seen at Woolsthorpe Manor in Lincolnshire, which is cared for by the National Trust.

The auction will take place in September and those who are who are successful in their bid, will become custodians of these historically significant trees.

Blue Diamond have pledged that they will donate up to 50% of proceeds raised from this auction to the National Trust, dependant on the final sums raised.

Blue Diamond and the Soil Association Stand GPA010

Blue Diamond is working in partnership with the Soil Association to raise awareness and promote Nature Friendly gardening.

Soil is incredible, it gives us life, grows our food and provide homes for billions of organisms. As such we need to look after it.

Lady Eve Balfour, founder of the Soil Association once said; “The health of soil, plant, animal and man is one and indivisible.”

Soil is the superhero under our feet. It stores more carbon than the atmosphere and all of the world’s plants and forests combined. This means that soil is one of our most important weapons in the fight against climate change!

Soil is important for nature and biodiversity too. It nurtures and gives home to billions of species, above and below ground - just one gram of soil (a quarter of a tablespoon) can harbour up to 10 billion organisms.

95% of our food production relies on the soil. Like water, soil is essential to life on earth. Together, we must encourage everybody to protect it for nature, planet, and people.

During RHS Chelsea week, Blue Diamond Garden Centres and the Soil Association, aim to raise awareness of how the health of people, the planet, and nature are tied to soil and they hope to demonstrate how individuals can contribute towards protecting our soils and nature by promoting nature friendly gardening and encouraging children to get involved.

Blue Diamond aims to continue this message throughout their centres and on their website; encouraging their customers to garden in a more nature friendly way.

Look out for the giant pair of wellies on their stand which will also be touring Blue Diamond Garden Centres throughout the summer months, starting at Bridgemere Show Gardens on the 11th June. Blue Diamond want to encourage children to use their old wellies (or any container) and get planting.
