PetQuip Awards dazzle as industry celebrates innovation and excellence

Company: PetQuip

Over 300 suppliers, retailers and industry professionals gathered at the PetQuip Awards to celebrate creativity and achievement in the UK pet sector, with 16 awards presented at a glittering evening event. Alongside the awards ceremony, entertainment included a performance by The Trickstars, charity fundraising from Pets as Therapy, a magnum draw courtesy of Noble Futures, and fun extras like a photo booth and lucky dip, provided by headline sponsor Leopard Co.

Held at the National Conference Centre alongside the PATS trade show at the NEC, the PetQuip Awards shone a spotlight on outstanding products, people, and companies. Joe Denham, Director General of PetQuip, said: “The awards night truly represents the heart and soul of this industry – a mix of serious business, networking and pure entertainment. We’re very grateful for the support of our sponsors, entrants, winners, judges and our brand-new venue.”

A new category for UK Online Retailer of the Year was introduced this year. The award went to The Muzzle Movement, recognised for going above and beyond by providing both education and solutions. Owner Clara Hewson said: “Wow, it’s brilliant to win two PetQuip Awards, repeating our double success of 2024. It gives our team such a boost.” Highly commended was Kavee, with Tug-E-Nuff taking silver.

The coveted Theresa Swann Exporter of the Year award was won by We.pet Independent Wholesale. Managing Director Daniel Vander said: “It’s great to receive recognition from our contemporaries and a fantastic accolade for all the team at We.pet who work so hard throughout the year.” The silver award went to Bugalugs Pet Care.

The People Awards celebrated exceptional talent in the sector. Jake Foster of Grub Club won the Rising Star award, which includes a £1,000 bursary from sponsor Noble Futures. Liane Avery of Pet Trade Innovations was named Employee of the Year, while the prestigious Lifetime Achievement award went to Ann Child of Fold Hill Foods, recognising her nearly 40-year contribution to the industry.

Commenting on her award, Ann said: “After 37 years of working in the pet industry, it’s a great honour to be recognised in this way. It is a great trade to work in, so I’m very happy.”

The next PetQuip Awards will take place on Monday, 28 September 2026.
