Innovative young designer Tom Simpson has achieved the rare feat of winning back to back RHS gold medals at this year’s Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival. Having struck gold at his first ever RHS show last year, he repeated the accomplishment today with his show garden designed for Cancer Research UK.
The Cancer Research UK’s Pledge Pathway To Progress is inspired by supporters working together with researchers to beat cancer for future generations by pledging a gift in their will to the charity.
Speaking following the win, Tom said: “I’m thrilled to receive my second gold medal, it’s a testament to all the months of hard work that has been put in by the team. To work on a garden with a such positive message, shining a light on the incredible impact gifts in wills have on beating cancer for future generations, is an honour. I hope that everyone who visits the garden throughout the festival will get as much enjoyment from it as I have.”
The RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival is open to the public from the 2 to 7 July 2019.
