YPHA announce first set of ‘Supporters’ for 2023-2024
The Young People in Horticulture Association are excited to announce their first five supporters for the 2023-2024 sponsorship term.
Supporters make up a second tier to YPHA’s sponsorship structure, working in unison with five ‘Key Partners’ to advocate for YPHA’s mission to engage, educate and empower horticulture’s younger contingent.
With the number of available slots for supporters increasing from five to 10 for the 2023-2024 term, an ‘expressions of interest’ process was undertaken, with the final candidates selected by the YPHA committee on a blind ballot basis from a longer list.
- Renewing for a second term, BALI (British Institute of Landscape Industries) are the UK’s leading landscaping Trade Association with over 900 members.
- Also pledging for a second term are MorePeople - a specialist recruitment business providing permanent and interim recruitment solutions for businesses operating in the food, horticulture, agriculture, and garden industry sectors.
- The first of the new recruits to be announced are Evergreen Garden Care. Evergreen produce a wide range of expertly blended growing media products and professional mixes.
- The Garden Media Guild now also join as a Supporter- they are a national organisation of professional communicators in the garden industry.
- The last of the first five to be announced are Majestic Trees, a 27-acre nursery growing over 500 varieties of semi mature and mature trees and hedging.
YPHA Founder, Natalie Porter shared her excitement at the expanding line-up, stating that ‘The support we have received from the industry is immense, and very much appreciated. The breadth of companies now represented within our support structure is only reflective of the diversity within our membership – we are proud to work closely with businesses who share our ethos and ambitions’.
Executive Chairman of MorePeople, Guy Moreton said, “We are delighted to be supporting THE FUTURE of our brilliant industry. This brilliant initiative is really needed at the moment.
“Horticulture is a great sector to be involved with but we are really bad at promoting ourselves, especially to people who have not been born into the sector.
“The YPHA aims to help raise the awareness of the huge number of opportunities in the industry for young people to build a fabulous long term and fulfilling career. And we should ALL do as much as possible to help them in this admirable objective.”
