HTA’s Garden Industry Leaders’ conference

If you can attend just one event this winter then it must be the HTA’s Garden Industry Leaders’ Conference which takes place at the London Stock Exchange on 21-22 October.

HTA Director General David Gwyther said, “This new event is key to all garden industry leaders and essential to enhancing profitability in these changing times. The contribution of any of the high-calibre speakers who will be sharing their business experience and insights should lead to profit improvement significantly in excess of the investment in attending the event.”

Joining the heavy weight line up of speakers that will share their business, strategy, financial and management expertise is entrepreneur and author David Hall. David, who has been described as one of Europe’s leading facilitators of innovation and entrepreneurship, will close conference proceedings on 21 October. His consulting practice helps organisations to be innovative and revitalise themselves by creating entrepreneurial solutions to their business activities.

It has also been confirmed that Jeff Randall, the Daily Telegraph’s Editor-At-Large, will speak after the conference dinner which takes place at the Crowne Plaza London, The City on the evening of 21 October. Jeff is a highly respected and widely experienced business commentator. He is a former BBC Business Editor and currently writes a twice-weekly column for The Telegraph, as well as continuing to present "Weekend Business", a radio show on BBC Five Live. In addition, he hosts ‘Jeff Randall Live’, a weekly chat show on Sky News, and makes television documentaries for ITV.

The Garden Industry Leaders’ Conference, which is the first of a new style HTA conference, is aimed at leading professionals in the garden industry and will be chaired by Peter Day, presenter of BBC Radio 4’s In Business programme. Confirmed speakers include Ben Page from Ipsos Mori, retail consultant Alistair Lorimer, HSBC senior economist Mark Berrisford-Smith, Stuart Scott, Edward de Bono’s master trainer in the UK, and Tim How, former chief executive of Majestic Wine.

The conference is being co-sponsored by Horticulture Week, Garden Retail, Scotts Miracle Gro and Westland and will take place in the impressive new media centre at the  London Stock Exchange Headquarters in Paternoster Square. Accommodation and the conference dinner will be at the Crowne Plaza London, The City Hotel just a few minutes’ walk away.
