The Horticultural Trades Association (HTA) has announced that a panel of experts will lead a key session on ‘Business Leaders and Business Efficiency’ at Horticulture, The Conference, taking place on Thursday 25 September at the Barbican Centre, London. The panel will be chaired by BBC Breakfast presenter Jon Kay.

Speakers include Alan Roper (Managing Director, Blue Diamond Nurseries), Natalie Boynton (Sales Director, Happy Plants), and Colin Stephens (Managing Director, Evergreen Garden Care), who will discuss effective leadership in today’s horticulture industry—focusing on strategic thinking, people management, and communication.

Jon Kay brings over 30 years of journalistic experience to the role, having reported on everything from global events to political interviews, including coverage from the US and inside 10 Downing Street.

Elia Johnston, HTA’s Director of Marketing, said: “This panel looks set to offer real insight into how businesses can navigate both growth and challenge with clarity and purpose. Jon Kay’s thoughtful and engaging approach will help bring the discussion to life.”

Alan Roper added: “I look forward to sharing how success can be achieved through clear principles and focused consistency, and how failure often stems from time-consuming corporate processes.”

The HTA has also confirmed other high-profile conference contributors, including economist Dr Tim Leunig, global foresight expert Josh McBain, and broadcaster Jeremy Vine as after-dinner speaker. Early bird rates from £99 per person are available until 31 July. For full details, visit hta.org.uk/conference.
