4 distinguished names leave the HTA Board
The HTA has already named three new non-Executive directors who are joining the HTA’s governing board. What is less well known are the names of the industry stalwarts who are standing down.
Adam Taylor, of Taylors Bulbs and a former President; Matthew Bent, Bents Garden and Home; and Brian Fraser, of Oakover Nurseries, are leaving the board. Chairman Will Armitage wrote, “[They] have all dedicated their time and expertise well beyond their required term. Their contribution has been invaluable.”
Stepping into the shoes are Jacqui Prior, a director at Farplants; Brett Avery, Group CEO of the Arboraco Group; and Martin Rowe, Director of HortiNet, a consultancy for growers, retailers, and investors. He also co-founded YouGarden.com.
James Barnes
Also retiring after 7 years as HTA chairman is James Barnes. He has steered the Association through Brexit, the Pandemic and war in Europe. Today the HTA is in a much stronger position in terms of its political profile, authority and financial stability.
Also joining the HTA Board as CFO is Stan Owen.
