Perennial adds three ambassadors to boost industry outreach
Perennial has appointed three new ambassadors as it looks to expand awareness of the support available to people working across horticulture.
Joining the charity's ambassador programme are Ann-Marie Powell, Michael Buck and Carole Baxter, bringing experience from garden design, commercial growing and the Scottish horticulture sector.
Powell is an award-winning garden designer, broadcaster and author. Buck is Head of Horticulture at Creepers Nurseries and has worked on projects including RHS Chelsea Flower Show gardens and international planting schemes. Baxter, a well-known gardener and television presenter, previously served as a Perennial trustee from 2015 to 2024 and was recently named the charity's ambassador for Scotland.
The trio join existing ambassadors Mark Gregory, Angela Oliver and Steve Harper, who represent the landscaping, floristry and garden retail sectors.
Powell said: "Supporting Perennial matters because it is there for people in our industry when life gets tough."
Buck added: "Perennial provides incredible support for people across the industry."
Baxter said she was looking forward to helping raise awareness of the charity's work and the support it provides across Scotland.
Jamie Gault of Perennial said the growing ambassador programme would help the charity reach more people and increase awareness of its services. "We are always there in a crisis, but we also aim to provide support that prevents problems becoming a crisis," he said.
Perennial is the only UK charity dedicated to supporting everyone facing challenges in horticulture. It provides free and confidential support covering issues including financial wellbeing, mental and physical health, employment and personal challenges.
