New boss at award winning garden centre

Company: Haskins Garden Centre

The Haskins Garden Centre, at Roundstone near Littlehampton has a new boss. Nick Joad has been appointed as General Manager of the award winning centre which opened in March 2012 after a £13m investment by the privately owned Haskins group.

Julian Winfield, Chief Exec of Haskins Garden Centres, said that he was delighted that Nick has accepted the promotion following his role of General Manager at their centre near East Grinstead.   Nick, from Eastbourne, started his career in retail as a trainee manager with W H Smith where after 18 years he left as a General Manager.

Nick says that he is pleased to have the opportunity to manage the enthusiastic team and part time staff at one of the South’s largest centres: “The centre continues to grow in popularity, thanks to the personal touch and the knowledge offered by a great team in a brilliant environment.”

The original Roundstone Garden Centre was acquired by the £31 million turnover Haskins group in November 2000. Since then the staff numbers have increased from 60 to over 160 full and part time personnel to support the extensive departments and the 450 seat restaurant.
