Mims grows national team with new Head Merchandiser

Company: Mims

Pottery supplier Mims has promoted Adrian Haslam to the newly created role of Head Merchandiser as it strengthens support for garden centres through its growing nationwide merchandising team. Haslam, who has represented the company in East Anglia for the past 18 months, will oversee new retail installations and help maintain merchandising standards across the business.

Adrian heads up Mims' national merchandising team. Alongside Ben Evans in the North West, John Bowie across northern England and the Scottish Borders, and Millie Hendry in the South West, he works with a wider team of merchandisers to provide comprehensive UK-wide retail support and coverage.

Commenting on his appointment, Haslam said he enjoys “transforming a tired area of a garden centre into a fresh, vibrant pots and planters display” and will focus on ensuring “consistently high standards across every display”.

Mims described how merchandisers review sales performance, stock levels and available retail space during visits, helping retailers maintain attractive and well-stocked displays while reducing the time required for garden centre staff to unpack and present products.

Mimi Milne, managing director of Mims, said Haslam brings “valuable category experience” and that the appointment will help share best practice across the team while delivering consistent support to customers nationwide.

“Pots and planters can be one of the fastest-moving and most profitable areas of a garden centre, but displays need regular attention to fulfil their potential. Our merchandising team helps retailers maintain availability, showcase products effectively and keep this important category looking its best throughout the year.”
