MBE for Philip Evason

Former buying director of Haskins, Philip Evason, has been awarded the MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list for his work in the Territorial Army.

Philip Evason left Haskins in November 2011 after five years as buying director. Before that he had been with the John Lewis partnership for 20 years, where he was head of direct services for Waitrose.

In the TA, he is Lieutenant-Colonel Philip Evason of the Parachute Regiment. He told the Bournemouth Echo: “I have had some wonderful opportunities with the Reserve Forces and I feel it is a really good way to put something back into society.

"During this time I was fortunate enough to have the support of my main employers; John Lewis, Waitrose and Marks and Spencer, enabling me to balance my full time civilian career with a fulfilling Reservist commitment.”
