Hillier seeks Senior Production Manager to succeed Charles Carr

Hillier Nurseries has begun the search for a new Senior Production Manager following the decision of Charles Carr, Head of Wholesale Nurseries, to step down in May 2026 to pursue new personal opportunities.

The transition comes as the 160‑year‑old business prepares for a major investment programme aimed at modernising and future‑proofing its nursery operations. The incoming manager will play a central role in delivering new technology, equipment and sustainable production processes designed to enhance efficiency and keep Hillier at the forefront of advanced horticultural growing.

During his eight‑year tenure, Carr has overseen key developments including the move to a 100% peat‑free site, the introduction of numerous new plant varieties and the strengthening of a highly skilled team of growers. His period in leadership has aligned with Hillier’s continued industry recognition, including its recent title of International Grower of the Year 2026.

Director Adam Dunnett described the vacancy as a “rare opportunity” for an experienced grower to shape the next chapter of Hillier’s evolution, with interested candidates invited to contact the company’s HR team for further information.
