Hillier appoints Senior Production Manager

Company: Hillier Nurseries

Hillier Nurseries has appointed Karolina Forgacz as its new Senior Production Manager, succeeding Charles Carr.

Karolina joins the business as Hillier embarks on its largest investment programme in a generation, including major upgrades to production infrastructure, automation, growing systems and nursery facilities.

The appointment follows Hillier's recent success in winning the International Grower of the Year 2026 title and supports the nursery's plans for future growth.

With more than 20 years' experience in commercial soft fruit and horticultural production, Karolina brings expertise in production planning, plant health, operational management and team leadership.

She has managed large-scale production operations and workforces of up to 1,000 people during peak periods, alongside developing extensive experience in LEAN manufacturing and operational efficiency.

Karolina will lead a review of Hillier's production programme and work closely with young plant suppliers to help develop an even broader range of plants suited to modern gardens.

She said she was delighted to be joining one of horticulture's most respected businesses at such an exciting stage of its development and looked forward to helping shape its future plant offering.

Production & Amenity Director Adam Dunnett said Karolina's experience in operational excellence, plant health and people development would be invaluable as Hillier continues investing in the nursery's future.

Karolina joins from Greenwood Group, a Plant Healthy accredited nursery, reinforcing Hillier's ongoing commitment to high biosecurity standards.

The nursery also remains committed to 100% peat-free growing and continues to support the RHS Transition to Peat-Free Fellowship.

Developing production skills and attracting new talent through Hillier's apprenticeship programme will remain central to the company's long-term strategy.

The appointment marks another step in Hillier's continued investment in its people, production capability and future growth.
