GCA adds a new member to the Executive Committee
The Garden Centre Association (GCA) has appointed Dan Lawton, General Manager at Moss & Moor in Ilkley, as Area Co-Chair for the North, covering Scotland and Northern Ireland (September 2025). He will work alongside current Chair Justin Williams, Managing Director at Fron Goch Garden Centre.
Justin said: “It’s a pleasure to have Dan join as GCA Co-Chair for the North. He has grown up in the industry, giving him the knowledge and understanding to connect with members and identify future opportunities.”
Dan began his horticultural career at 14 as a trolley boy in Northumberland, later studying horticulture at Kirkley Hall College. He held roles at Klondyke and became a Director at Langlands Garden Centres before joining Moss & Moor. “I’m delighted to join the Executive Committee and work with Justin to connect with members across the region,” he said.
GCA Chief Executive Peter Burks welcomed Dan’s appointment and thanked outgoing Co-Chair Martin Cowell of Cowells Garden Centre for his many years of service. “Dan brings experience, a love of all things green and a down-to-earth approach,” Peter said. “We’re indebted to Martin for his dedication and are excited for Dan’s input as we prepare for our 60th anniversary in 2026.”
