Four Oaks announces death of Pat Coutts

Four Oaks has published the following announcement:

It is with great sadness that we advise of the passing of Pat Coutts, Event Director of the Four Oaks Trade Show, who died peacefully at her home on Monday 30th August, aged 76. Pat led the show across five decades and was a pillar of the horticultural community, she will be sadly missed.

Pat often said that 'horticulture is for life' and she was happy to dedicate hers to serving it, first working on the Four Oaks nursery then going on to build and evolve a successful international trade show for the sector, one that has a completely unique and special character, which is her lasting legacy to the industry.

Pat is survived by a son, Stephen, four grandchildren and a great grandson. The funeral will take place at Macclesfield Crematorium on Monday 20th September at 11.30am.

Donations to Cancer Research, no flowers. Tributes to Pat are being collated by Horticulture Week, a long-term sponsor of the event.

The horticultural trade show, which is run early in September each year, had already been cancelled this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

...Pat was one of the nicest people I ever met at the Four Oaks Trade Show! When I represented Oglevee Computer Systems back in the 90s and came from the USA she was so helpful to me in making sure my accommodations were in place and the Booth we rented for the show was top shelf. I am sure all who have had the pleasure of meeting and working with her will miss her immensely.
