Bank advertising campaign appearance benefits Greenfingers charity for hospice gardens

Company: Haskins Garden Centres

To thank Julian Winfield, the Chief Executive of Dorset based Haskins Garden Centres, for representing one of four businesses featured in Santander’s recent national advertising campaign, including a promotional video, the bank offered to donate £1000 to a charity of his choice.  The charity he chose was Greenfingers, which is supported by the garden retail industry to create magical gardens for children’s hospices across the UK.

Julian Winfield invited Mike Donaldson, Corporate Relationship Director for Santander, to present the £1000 to Greenfingers’ Director of Fundraising and Marketing Deborah Skillicorn.

"We really appreciate the donation,” said Deborah Skillicorn. “Our gardens make a real difference to the lives of children cared for in the hospices and their families by enabling them to enjoy precious times together, away from the bedside, and appreciating the therapeutic benefits of nature.”

Julian Winfield said: “I was pleased to be invited to appear in the Santander campaign. The offer of the charity donation was a fantastic surprise and the work for hospices offered provided by Greenfingers make them a very worthy recipient.”
