Emmeline Yourston, Apprentice at The Bransford Webbs Plant Company, has won the Midlands Regional Growers Apprentice of the Year Award which was presented to her by Nicky Chapman at the RHS Malvern Spring Festival last week.

Emmeline joined Bransford Webbs in September 2023, on a two year scheme, working towards a Level 3 Crop Technician apprenticeship in conjunction with Pershore College, and currently works in the liner unit of the nursery.

Emmeline was also an IPPS Europe 6 pack award winner in 2024, which enabled her to attend the Annual Conference in Surrey. The three-day long conference offered her the chance to attend a range of lectures and visits, as well as the opportunity to meet other growers from across Europe. More recently, Emmeline has been awarded the Smart Gardens Product Scholarship through the Colegrave Seabrook Foundation.

“Emmeline has worked very hard during her apprenticeship, and we are very proud of her achievements”, commented Karl O’Neill, Production Technical Director. “She is a very worthy winner, and we are positive she has a bright future here with us”.

Emmeline joins a long line of successful apprentices from The Bransford Webbs Plant Company, dating back to the late 1980’s, with several of the current grower, supervisory and management staff beginning their careers in this way.
