Sustainability Conference available On-Demand from SGD

Company: Society of Garden Designers (SGD)

A fascinating conference exploring ‘garden design in an era of climate crisis’ is now available on-demand from the Society of Garden Designers.

This digital collection of talks features a host of industry experts discussing the ways in which gardens can be more sustainable and can help to tackle climate change.

Conference Chair and sustainable landscape & garden designer, Mark Laurence said:

"The looming climate crisis is going to bring enormous changes across the world if we don’t act cohesively, and garden designers are at the forefront of this. As designers, we can show people how they can create spaces that can have a positive impact on our environment, such as increasing biodiversity, harvesting rainwater and improving soil.”

Through a series of five presentations, the SGD conference tackles different aspects of sustainability and explores how we can use precious resources differently and do more with less. Speakers include: multi-award-wining garden designer Sarah Eberle, who shares her thoughts on plants and materials in relation to sustainability; landscape architect Robert Bray who focuses on rain gardens and rain capture; Soil scientist Tim O’Hare; Dave Goulson, a specialist in bee ecology who explores biodiversity; and James Hitchmough, Professor of Horticultural Ecology, who discusses regenerative design.
