Phil Tremayne wins joint Landscaping Champion award

Company: HTA

Phil Tremayne was named joint Landscaping Champion at the Pro Landscaper Business Awards alongside Mark Gregory.

Horticultural Trades Association has announced that Phil Tremayne, General Manager of its specialist group, the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL), has been named joint Landscaping Champion at the Pro Landscaper Business Awards.

He shares the new award category with Mark Gregory of Landform Consultants, recognising individuals who have gone above and beyond to champion and showcase the landscaping sector.

The Landscaping Champion award was introduced this year and judged through a combination of panel assessment and an open industry vote.

Judges praised Tremayne for his passion, leadership and commitment to supporting APL members, describing him as a “father figure” within the landscaping community and a heavyweight in the industry.

They also highlighted his work in strengthening relationships across the sector, offering advice to members and helping raise professional standards throughout the industry.

Speaking at the awards ceremony at Old Billingsgate, London, Tremayne said winning the award meant everything to him and described the recognition as “a big hug” from his extended family of landscapers.

He added that being nominated by friends and colleagues was a huge honour after more than 30 years working in the industry.

Tremayne has worked at the HTA since 2010 and has led the APL for more than a decade, representing designers, landscapers and professional gardeners across the UK.

David Denny, HTA Director of Research and Knowledge Transfer, said the award reflects Tremayne’s exceptional dedication, expertise and the high regard in which he is held by members and colleagues alike.
