APL gardens win Gold at Harrogate Show

Members of the Association of Professional Landscapers (APL) achieved major success at the Harrogate Spring Flower Show, winning multiple gold awards and the prestigious Best in Show title.
Melissa Morton and Land Masons received Premier Gold and Best in Show for ‘The Breathing Space’, a compact garden inspired by Nordic design and Yorkshire materials.
The 4x5m space features a garden sauna for two, timber boardwalks and naturalistic planting, creating a calm and restorative retreat within a small urban setting.
Judges praised the garden’s innovative design, beautiful planting and exceptional build quality, highlighting the attention to detail in both concept and construction.
APL member J Paxman Landscapes also won Gold for ‘Common Ground’, a shared urban garden designed to encourage connection through modular planting, seating and communal outdoor use.
Phil Tremayne, APL General Manager, said the gardens reflected the talent and professionalism of APL members and showed what is possible in smaller garden spaces.
