Yorkshire Garden Centres smash charity fundraising target

Yorkshire Garden Centre Group has exceeded expectations by surpassing its Charity of the Year fundraising target for Martin House Children’s Hospice well ahead of schedule.
The Bradford-headquartered group originally pledged to raise £30,000, but has already donated more than £45,000 through events, till collection boxes, stock donations and its popular ‘Pennies’ initiative.
Fundraising efforts spanned all Yorkshire Garden Centres sites, including Tong, Tingley, Otley, Bingley, York, Scarborough and Pennine, with strong support from colleagues and customers alike.
Group People and Culture Manager Steph Harrison highlighted the vital role Martin House plays, supporting over 550 children and hundreds of families each year through hospice, hospital and community care.
Martin House Partnership Manager Hannah Finan explained the impact of the donation, noting it could fund the hospice for a full day or provide crucial end-of-life care for a child and their family.
The group also celebrated its wider charitable impact, having raised more than £140,000 for local charities over the past decade and earning recognition as one of JustGiving’s top 1% supporters.
