Wyevale Nurseries has been awarded the Excellence in Sustainability Award at the Herefordshire & Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2025. Presented during a celebration at Worcester Arena on June 12, the award recognises the company’s long-standing commitment to environmental leadership in horticulture.

Sponsored by Vinegar Works, the award celebrates organisations actively reducing their environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices. Wyevale impressed judges with its forward-thinking approach, which includes reducing peat use, conserving water, enhancing biodiversity, and investing in efficient infrastructure.

Managing Director Andy Johnson said: "We’re thrilled to receive this award. Sustainability is central to our business strategy and embedded in every department. It’s thanks to the dedication of our teams that we continue to hit ambitious environmental targets and make a meaningful impact."

Celebrating 95 years in business, the nursery continues to lead by example—working towards becoming fully peat-free by 2028, rolling out carbon audits across its supply chain, and exploring AI-driven resource management. The business is also reducing transport emissions, shifting to recyclable packaging, and encouraging closed-loop recycling among suppliers.

Wyevale Nurseries holds Plant Healthy Certification and ISO14001 Environmental Accreditation, affirming its proactive and measurable approach to sustainability. The company’s efforts not only reduce its environmental footprint but also help steer the horticultural industry towards a more climate-resilient future.
