Gardeners from Thrive were delighted to be able to choose their own real Christmas tree from Notcutts Garden Centre, near Oxford.
They spent a day at the garden centre meeting the very friendly reindeer, enjoying the Christmas lighting displays and making festive decorations to take home. Choosing the tree was easy – the gardeners went for the biggest of course!
Back at Thrive gardeners had great fun decorating the tree which looks brilliant in the tea room.
Notcutts are in their second year of supporting Thrive, funding a bursary to train people to become horticultural therapists.
And Notcutts Garden Centre at Nuneham Courtenay, the nearest garden centre to Thrive’s head office and main gardens, is doing even more for the charity by donating the proceeds from their evening talks on flower arranging.
Sandy Fitzgerald, Business Development Manager at Thrive said: “Notcutts are incredibly generous with their levels for support for Thrive and staff at the garden centre at Nuneham Courtenay have really taken us to their heart by donating proceeds from their evening talks and promoting the work of Thrive.
“We’re thrilled to go into 2018 with a strong partnership and I am so pleased that there are plans to increase the level of support for Thrive next year.”
Jonathan Tew, Centre Manager at Notcutts Oxford, said: “The team at Notcutts Oxford were delighted to welcome the Thrive gardeners to the centre for some festive fun this December - they certainly know how to get into the Christmas spirit!
“Thrive carries out some amazing work in the horticultural sector and we’re pleased to support in any way we can.”
