Popular garden centre raises more than £2,550 for Countess Mountbatten Hospice

Company: Haskins Garden Centre

Haskins Garden Centre in West End has raised £2,563.26 for its charity partner, Countess Mountbatten Hospice.

The West End garden centre selected to support the charity throughout 2017. Countess Mountbatten Hospice is a charity providing care to those with life-limiting illnesses. The hospice also serves those in the wider community by caring for in excess of 720,000 local people.

Employees at the centre raised funds and awareness for the charity by hosting events throughout the year, as well as participating in individual charitable challenges. The garden centre held a Christmas Shopping evening and a Family Christmas evening to further raise funds. The centre also collected donations in its Wishing Well with coins thrown into the centre’s outdoor water features.

West End’s centre manager, Peter Callaway, commented: “We’re delighted with the final amount raised for Countess Mountbatten Hospice. I’m very grateful to the team for working hard within the centre to raise money for the charity.”

Eliza Dunn, community fundraising and events manager at Countess Mountbatten Hospice, commented: “We’re very thankful to have been supported by Haskins. The money raised by the garden centre will help to pay for specialist goods and services which will benefit our patients, their relatives and staff of Countess Mountbatten House.

“Haskins has been a great support to our charity and we hope to work with them again in the future.”

The Haskins West End centre has recently announced that it will be supporting the Silk Bow Foundation this year, a charity operating in the SO postcode to help those that find everyday tasks challenging.

Haskins Garden Centre is located in Mansbridge Road, Southampton. Visit www.haskins.co.uk for more information.
