Origin Green-tech celebrates 80 years of staff service
Four members of the Origin Green-tech team are celebrating 20 years with the business, marking a combined 80 years of service.
Andrea Questari, Dean Jackson, Elaine Yates and Richard Wexham have each played an important role in the company's development since joining Green-tech, which began in farm buildings in Nun Monkton.
Andrea joined as a Technical Sales Advisor before progressing to Sales Manager and his current role as Category Manager – Growing Media & Nutrients. He is responsible for developing the category, working with suppliers and customers, and bringing innovative products to market.
“The people are what make Green-tech special for me,” Andrea said. “We have a collaborative culture where people genuinely care about one another and work together to achieve shared goals.”
Dean joined as a Sales Office Administrator and has progressed through eight roles to become Commercial Manager. He oversees Customer Service, Specification, Ecommerce and Systems, using business data to identify opportunities and support commercial growth. He said the people and teamwork had been central to the company's success.
Elaine started as an Operations Administrator and has earned four promotions to become Operations and Logistics Manager. She manages inbound and outbound stock movements, helping ensure products move efficiently through the business. She highlighted the friendships built over two decades and the shared satisfaction of delivering high-profile projects.
Richard joined as a Technical Sales Advisor before becoming Product Specification Manager and then Pipeline Support Manager. He helps landscape architects, engineers and developers turn complex designs into practical, sustainable solutions.
“I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved over the past 20 years,” Richard said. “The people I’ve worked alongside have become much more than colleagues or friends, they have become like family.”
Mark Andrews, Managing Director at Origin Green-tech, praised all four employees for their commitment, experience and contribution, noting how their careers had developed alongside the business.
From its beginnings in farm buildings, Origin Green-tech has grown into a specialist supplier of sustainable land management solutions serving landscaping, forestry, farms and estates, the built environment and gardening. The four milestones highlight the value of long-standing expertise as the business continues to evolve.
