Greenfingers Kilimanjaro team tops £100,000 fundraising milestone

Greenfingers Charity supporters are celebrating a major achievement as their Kilimanjaro fundraising campaign surpasses £100,000, marking a significant step towards funding a new hospice garden.
With just months to go before the June ascent of Mount Kilimanjaro, the 24-strong team has been ramping up both training and fundraising efforts, preparing for the physical and mental demands of the challenge.
Participants have already undertaken altitude training to better understand the effects of climbing to nearly 6,000 metres, while also engaging in community events and industry initiatives to boost donations.
Fundraising highlights include a successful quiz night hosted by Alexa Blackmore, alongside upcoming events such as a golf day led by ambassador Bob Marley.
The funds raised will support a new garden at Naomi House & Jacksplace, designed by Helen Elks-Smith, offering a peaceful space for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
As the challenge approaches, the team remains focused on building momentum, with their efforts not only aiming for the summit but also to create a lasting, meaningful legacy for those in hospice care.
