Caulders opens new 300-seater Kirkintilloch Restaurant

Company: Caulders Garden Centre

Caulders Garden Centre has officially opened a brand new 300-seater restaurant at its Kirkintilloch site near Glasgow, marking a significant £2 million investment in the location where its hospitality journey first began.

Kirkintilloch was the first restaurant Caulders ever built, laying the foundations for its reputation for warm, friendly table service and high hospitality standards. After years of loyal customer support, the business felt it was the right time to transform the much-loved restaurant.

The development delivers a bright, spacious and comfortable dining environment, serving freshly prepared meals and Caulders’ popular homemade baking. A key highlight is the new purpose-built bakery, which will supply home baking to all nine Caulders restaurants across Scotland.

The restaurant also includes flexible venue rooms available for private hire, allowing customers to host celebrations and gatherings while enjoying Caulders’ well-known hospitality. The project has created 20 new jobs, bringing the company’s total workforce to almost 500 across its 10 garden centres.

Sustainability played a central role in the build, with high-performance insulation, modern glazing, air source heat pumps and a 75kW solar PV system installed to improve energy efficiency. A 30,000-litre rainwater harvesting tank will also help reduce mains water usage by supporting plant irrigation.

Colin Barrie, Managing Director, said the investment reflects Caulders’ long-term commitment to hospitality and sustainable growth, adding that the business is delighted to offer Kirkintilloch customers a new restaurant worthy of their continued loyalty.
