B&Q reopens 14 stores
Following the closure of all its UK stores in response to the Coronavirus outbreak on March 23rd, B&Q has reopened 14 stores as a trial, with the garden centres selling a range of self-service plants.
A range of plant bundles are also available from DIY.com, which are collected from an allocated area of the car park at the nearest B&Q.
The stores now open include: Cardiff (Culverhouse Cross), Chester, Coventry (Brandon Road), Fareham, Gillingham (Kent), Ipswich, Nursling, Paisley, Plymouth, Stockport, Sutton in Ashfield, Watford, West Thurrock, York (Hull Road).
Only products that customers can shop and takeaway in store on the day are available. Services such as kitchen and bathroom design, paint mixing, timber cutting and key cutting are not available for the time being.
The DIY giant says, “We’ve introduced social distancing controls at our re-opened stores.
“We’re strictly limiting the number of customers in store at any one time, and so you may find you need to queue if you visit the store. To help remind everyone to respect each other’s personal space, we have two metre floor markers throughout the store and also perspex screens at our checkouts.”
