The current season has been exceptionally positive for outdoor furniture, thanks to the welcome change in weather dry, sunny days replacing the wind, rain, and cold we've seen over the past three years.
Jack Whiteley, Chairman of Katie Blake, shared his thoughts:
"We’re very pleased with our sales performance this year. While some online retailers have been offering discounts of up to 60%, our customers continue to benefit from highly competitive terms by buying directly from us."
The landscape of the industry has changed significantly. Last season, several major importers, and wholesalers went into liquidation. This year, the SOLEX trade show once a key industry event, will be notably different. Katie Blake, along with many other well-known brands, will not be attending.
"As a founding member of the Leisure and Outdoor Furniture Association (LOFA), it's disappointing to see that the organization no longer truly represents the businesses still active in the market. In our view, neither SOLEX nor LOFA have a sustainable future," said Jack Whiteley.
