Griffin Glasshouses, one of the UK’s leading specialist manufacturers of bespoke and National Garden Scheme greenhouses, is hoping that the 2019 RHS Chelsea Flower Show will continue to help drive its export sales.
Linda Lane, managing director of Griffin Glasshouses and the daughter of the founder, sees an increasing number of the NGS size greenhouses being installed in Scandanavia and Europe and many of the initial enquiries are a direct result of exhibiting at Chelsea.
”We are about to send and erect two of the NGS Tarragon and two NGS Lavendar greenhouses to Sweden. Both were launched last year at the Chelsea Flower Show by Alan Titchmarsh and we understand that these four orders can be traced back directly to the show.
“Home and overseas sales, directly resulting from visitors seeing them on our stand at Chelsea, continue to form a key part of our sales strategy. Orders from private clients for bespoke greenhouses remain buoyant and several of these can also be traced back to the show.”
In June, Linda and her team will begin work on building a version of the Lavender greenhouse at the Midland Centre for Spinal Injuries based at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital at Oswestry. This will be a central feature of the Horatio’s Garden at the centre which is designed by Bunny Guinness. Last year Linda installed a similar structure at the Horatio’s Garden at the National Spinal Injuries Centre at Stoke Mandeville.
