Mercure Grand, Bristol is set in a historic grade II listed building in the heart of Bristol city centre. The 186-room property's interior draws inspiration from the city's independent art scene and includes over 500 pieces by local artists.
The Conference will kick off on Sunday afternoon with the annual Greenfingers event where retailers and suppliers will be competing for the Greenfingers Challenge Trophy and raising money for the charity. Due to the success of the horse racing game last year, it has been decided to do again for 2020! The afternoon’s event is followed by an informal evening.
On Monday, we get down to business with presentations from our inspectors and competition judges together with other speakers focusing on business operations. The day is rounded off with our annual Associates Networking Night, the perfect opportunity for suppliers and garden centres to get to know each other. The evening is informal and this year we have entertainment and a 'Seafaring' theme. Fancy dress is optional but there will be prizes for the best dressed!
Business strategy is the centre of attention on Tuesday. High-profile speakers such as Dame Kelly Holmes and Kate Adie CBE, along with Paul Mason and Sir Tim Smit KBE will cover the hugely important topics of sustainability and wellbeing along with some economic insight. The afternoon rounds off with our supplier exhibition from 4.00pm before the final event of the conference, our Annual Dinner and Awards ceremony, that evening.
Our conference is attended by a majority of our garden centre members; therefore, it is the ideal opportunity to meet new and existing customers and speak to the decision makers.
