Bug life CEO Matt Shardlow blames the Government for it but surely it is down to the buyers at the supermarkets, discount retailers, garden centres chains and the independents who are buying these foreign imports? If these buyers looked to their conscience and supported genuine British growers imports could be reduced. If we were only importing essentials the bio security authorities may be able to cope with the level of imports. Can't really blame the consumers, they can only buy what they are offered. Perhaps if the £ falls further and the price of imports goes still higher it will reduce the volume? There could be a benefit to Brexit yet!
