LOFA warns that freight problems are escalating

With container costs approaching $20,000, LOFA warns that freight problems are escalating and asks if this is due to the greed of shipping lines and if they are colluding to increase prices.

Of course it has been very difficult all year and we had hoped it would have started to get better by now but it looks as though it is going to get worse! Garden Centres and Retailers have now realised that the problems are not the fault of their supplier and have started to understand the problems. Most retailers have no furniture and when it does arrive they have already sold it. Interestingly, although prices have gone through the roof furniture it is still selling so it does mean that for years it has been undersold as retailers unnecessarily demanded lower prices. In my opinion, the cartel includes the Freight Forwarders as well as the Shipping Lines. We have been asking our local Southend MP for months to do something but he doesn't even reply. I don't think this government is interested as we were told it was a commercial issue and nothing to do with Government.
