Barnsfold Nurseries Limited is a wholesale bedding and pot plant nursery based in West Sussex supplying Garden Centres and Local Authorities predominately in the South of England. We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Sales Manager. Being part of the Squires Garden Centre family, we have a great customer in place but this only accounts for approximately 50% of our production – a ratio we intend to maintain. The new Sales Manager will focus on developing external customer relationship, both existing and new.

The role includes:

• Days in the office and on the road. As part of a small, hard-working team you will, when in the office, assist the Purchasing & Sales Executive in managing the sales office and picking team.
• You will also assist in updating stock levels on the nursery systems.
• A number of days each week will be spent on the road visiting new and prospective customers.
• Working closely with the General Manager and sales team you will identify new, profitable, sales opportunities that will enable the business to reach sales targets.
• You will present our ranges to prospective and existing customer, negotiate prices and other requirements.
• Manage the existing customer base on a daily basis.
• Producing and presenting sales reports and targets with the sales team General Manager and Directors
• We are looking for a colleague with a good understanding of production costs, margins and marketplace price levels. You will exceed sales targets whilst ensuring all cost budget are adhered to.

• Excellent organisational skills with a strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong relationship-building skills.
• Ability to self-motivate yet work as part of a strong team.
• A passion for selling plants.
• Good IT skills essential.
• Positive mindset.
• Full driving licence
• Ideally, a minimum of 5 years sales experience within the Horticulture industry.
